The No. 51 Fantasy pattern is marbled with metallic gold, rusty red, burgundy, forest green, and deep turquoise, on black paper.
Fantasy is a modern, late 19th century pattern. The patterns starts from a Turkish base (the oldest European marbling pattern, dating back to the 15th century) which is made by tapping colours from a brush onto the marbling bath, creating a random, spotted pattern. A stylus is then used to randomly swirl the pattern from the base spots.
Fantasy is also called Fancy, Maître-Relieur, Fantasie and Phantasie.
