MARBRÉ NO. 27

< PREVIOUS   /   NEXT >

The No. 27 Gloster pattern is marbled with veins of emerald green, oxblood red, lion yellow, black and white, with lacy spots in black.

Gloster is made from a Turkish base (the oldest European marbling pattern, dating back to the early 15th century), which is made by tapping colours from a brush onto the marbling bath, creating a random, spotted pattern. The base is combed twice vertically across the bath with a comb with one set of teeth. To achieve the lacy spots, an additional colour mixed with dispersant is sprinkled on the marbling bath.

Gloster is also called Gloucester, Partidge's Eye, Oeil de Perdrix, and Stein Marmor mit Grießtropfen
