The No. 16 Italian vein pattern is marbled in a modern version with real silver paint on black paper.
Italian Vein was created in Italy in the late 18th century to resemble Italian marble. Colour is dripped into the marbling bath followed by a sprinkled dispersant, which forces the first colours into tight veins.
Italian vein is also called Neo-Italian, Hair Vein, Veiné, Moucheté, Haarader, and Ader.
